The NBA regular season is set to tip off on Tuesday, October 24, with a doubleheader on TNT. In the first game, the defending champion Denver Nuggets will host the Los Angeles Lakers. The second game will feature the Phoenix Suns taking on the Golden State Warriors.

The Nuggets are coming off their first NBA championship in franchise history. Nikola Jokic, the reigning Finals MVP, will be looking to lead the Nuggets to another deep playoff run. The Lakers are hoping to bounce back from thei disappointing sweep against said Nuggets, with LeBron James still being one of the best players in the world, and Anthony Davis as perennial All-Star.

The Suns are one of the top teams in the Western Conference, with their newly formed big three consisting of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. The Warriors on the other hand have added Chris Paul and still roster Stephen Curry, the greatest shooter in NBA history, and Klay Thompson, who is one of the best two-way players in the league.

The opening night doubleheader is sure to be a showcase of some of the best talent in the NBA. It is a must-watch event for any basketball fan. But, even though opening night will feature the reigning champions, the best player in the league, Nikola Jokic, as well as their ring ceremony, the NBA didn’t feel the need to add them to their advertising graphic. Instead, Jayson Tatum is featured, even though the Celtics don’t even play.
