NBA Executive Thinks The Golden State Warriors Could Trade Either James Wiseman Or Jonathan Kuminga

The Golden State Warriors entered this season as championship favorites following their last year’s finals win. But with two months into the season now, the Warriors have been nowhere close to that level. One of the reasons for this is some of their players have not played up to their expectations.

No-one has been as underwhelming as James Wiseman. As a former No.2 overall pick, Wiseman has only suited up in 12 games for the Warriors this season and has averaged 6.5 points and 3.7 rebounds on 58.5% shooting from the field. He’s been in a tough spot that, leading to the Warriors sending him down to the G-League earlier this season.

Jonathan Kuminga is also one guy that didn’t impress as much this season. Though it looks like he’s starting to figure it all out lately, the 20-year old Dubs forward started the season very slow and was a subject of a couple of trade rumors early on.

As the Warriors and the rest of the league now enter the December 15 trade market, one NBA executive feels that the Warriors are going to part ways with either one of their young players in Wiseman or Kuminga.

Per Heavy Sports:

“I have a feeling the Warriors are going to make either (James) Wiseman or (Jonathan) Kuminga available,” one league executive told Heavy Sports, echoing the belief of a peer who’s also spoken to this site. “They just need another solid veteran.

“Wiseman might actually be more available than Kuminga,” the executive said. “There’s a concern there that’s like, did he choose the game, or did the game choose him? How committed is he?”
