Luka Doncic On Him Constantly Complaining To Referees: ‘I Gotta Stop This, I Know It’s Not Right’

To say Luka Doncic has disappointed at the start of the season makes things seem a little over dramatic. Even though the beginning of 2020-21 wasn’t ideal for the All-Star, it still was pretty good.

But after the ‘slower’ start, Luka has found back to his old-self in recent weeks, and has shown why so many people had him as their MVP candidate prior to the season.

Doncic is averaging 27.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game and the Mavericks have started to win some games as of late, pushing to reach the playoffs this year, after all.

But aside from his stellar play, Luka drew criticism for complaining too much about calls. So when Stephen A. Smith asked Luka about the whining, Doncic showed some great maturity, and agreed that he needs to stop this.

Stephen A. Smith: “What do you feel about folks looking at you, and saying, “You’re complaining a bit too much, your body language is bad, you’re whining a little bit.”

Luka: “I think some of it is true, because you know, especially this year, but I think the last couple of games I’ve been getting better and better. I gotta stop this, I know it’s not right. But I think more than whining, it’s just wanting to win. We were in a bad spot for 6 losses in a row, and that just makes you do things you don’t want to do. I know I did a lot of things wrong, and I gotta learn from this. I’m still young, and I can learn from this.”
