Lakers Assistant Coach Phil Handy Calls Kyrie Irving The Most Skilled Offensive Player Ever

Kyrie Irving is a wizard in his own right. He can score at all three levels, has one of the best layup packages in the game, and is one of the best dribblers the game has ever seen. He’s incredibly skilled as if he has some strings on the ball attached to his hands.

Irving just averaged 27.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game on 46.9% shooting from the field last season. Though he only appeared in 29 regular season games with the Brooklyn Nets, it was a show every time Irving stepped on the court.

Gauging Irving’s skills as an offensive player, renowned assistant coach Phil Handy, who once worked with Irving in Cleveland, now claimed that the 30-year old star is the most skilled offensive player to ever put on basketball shoes.

“I will go on record and say this. He is probably the most skilled player to ever play,” Handy said of Kyrie. “Offensively, probably the most skilled player to ever put on basketball shoes.”
