The Utah Jazz’s Historic (Bench) Performance

The Utah Jazz have looked like the NBA’s best team this season and are on an absolute tear, having won 10 of their last 11 games. They have a league leading record of 25-6 and are the only team to have not reached the 10-loss mark, yet.

Last night’s game against the Charlotte Hornets was an incredible demonstration of power. They made a franchise record 28 threes, and when they were down by 11 points in the 3rd quarter, they went on a 41-11 run in a span of 10 minutes and 35 seconds to take a commanding 19-point lead.

While the starters played well, the bench had a game for the ages.

The Jazz bench made 19 three point shots – good for most by a bench in NBA history. They also had three players with 20+ points off the bench, which marked only the third time in NBA history. Georges Niang’s seven three pointers without a miss, also were the second most in NBA history.
