WNBA Star Satou Sabally Re-Signs With Dallas Wings For One Year

Satou Sabally, a rising star in the WNBA as well as its reigning Most Improved Player, is staying put in Dallas. The two-time All-Star forward has re-signed with the Wings for one year, according to ESPN’s Alexa Philippou.

Sabally’s contract is fully protected and worth $195,000, a source told Philippou. The 24-year-old was a restricted free agent, meaning the Wings had the right to match any offer Sabally received from another team.

“Just engaging in those basketball conversations really made us realize that we want to work together and we want to bring a championship to Dallas,” Sabally said. “It could really be termed as unfinished business.”

Sabally is a versatile forward who can score from inside and out, and averaged 18.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game last season for the Wings.

The Wings are hoping that Sabally can continue to develop into one of the league’s best players. She is a talented player with a lot of potential, and she is already a key part of the team’s success.

Either way, Sabally’s re-signing is a major coup for the Wings, as six other teams reached out to her, with Sabally eventually even agreeing to take a bit of a discount to allow Dallas to bolster the talent around her.
