Gilbert Arenas Wants Milwaukee Bucks To Fire Doc Rivers After Only Two Games

The Milwaukee Bucks caught the NBA off guard when they released first-year head coach Adrian Griffin after a strong 30-13 start. Despite boasting one of the best records in the league, Griffin was out, and veteran Doc Rivers was swiftly brought in to replace him.

Rivers boasts an extensive resume, having coached several top teams and winning a championship. However, the 62-year-old coach also carries a reputation for inflexibility and playoff meltdowns. With this in mind, former Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas voiced his concerns.

With the Bucks having played just two games under Rivers so far without securing any wins (as of February 3, 2024) Arenas thinks the Bucks are headed in the wrong direction with Rivers and should immediately fire their newly-acquired head coach.

“The best thing for the Bucks right now is just to go into the locker room and say ‘Hey Doc, we changed our mind. We’re gonna go with that guy that gave us the win when you wasn’t here,’” Arenas said. “So, Doc, pack your shit, and then we’re gonna go ahead and finish this season without you. Because at the end of the day, we were good before you got here.”
