Could The Los Angeles Lakers Make A Move To Trade For Draymond Green?

Draymond Green has consistently been in the spotlight this season, primarily because of his involvement in several contentious incidents, including those with Jusuf Nurkic and Rudy Gobert.

The Golden State Warriors, who haven’t kicked off the season really well, greatly benefit from Green’s defensive prowess and intangibles. However, his technical fouls, suspensions and ejections often limit his time on the court, creating a significant setback for the team.

Currently, Green is on an indefinite suspension following his latest altercation with Nurkic. Amid this, there’s been speculation about whether the Warriors might consider trading their veteran defensive anchor.

An anonymous league executive has recently joined this conversation. Speaking to Sean Deveney of Heavy, the executive suggested that if the Warriors are open to trading Green, the Los Angeles Lakers would be an ideal trade partner.

Per Heavy Sports:

“If you were to get him out of Golden State, there’s really only one team that could possibly trade for him. That’s the Lakers,” The executive told Deveney. “No one else could really handle what he’s bringing. LeBron James could. Draymond has been kissing up to LeBron for a couple of years now…It’s not just the on-court stuff and the fights and all of that. But the contract. The approach—there are not a lot of teams he would want to play for. All of that. Our team, our owner, we could not handle a Draymond Green trade. Most people would say that same thing. The Lakers could handle it, though. I doubt they want to. But they could.”
