Jaden McDaniels woke up Wednesday morning already living inside NBA chaos.
His team was being mentioned all over the league. The Timberwolves were in the middle of trade speculation, roster movement and amidst offseason noise that makes every player check his phone a little more often than usual.
Then McDaniels walked outside and discovered a much more immediate problem.
His car was gone.
According to reports, McDaniels found that his 2022 Dodge Charger was missing from its parking space outside his residence. The Timberwolves forward then went to a Los Angeles Police Department station, where officers took a stolen vehicle report.
That is the kind of day that turns “NBA trade rumors” into the second-most stressful thing happening before lunch.
The timing felt surreal. Fans are debating roster construction, LaMelo Ball possibilities, Naz Reid’s future, and what Minnesota should do next. Then, McDaniels is filing a police report because his Dodge Charger disappeared.
It is almost too on-brand for the NBA offseason. Nothing happens in isolation. A player can be part of trade rumors in the morning, a police report in the afternoon, and a social media punchline by dinner.
