Will LeBron James Be Leaving Cleveland For Los Angeles?

NBA superstars Chris Paul, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade are not only colleagues, but also best friends. They go on vacations together, they talk as often as possible, and they always had the dream of playing together. James once told the media:

“I really hope that, before our career is over, we can all play together. At least one, maybe one or two seasons—me, Melo, D-Wade, CP—we can get a year in. I would actually take a pay cut to do that. It would be pretty cool. I’ve definitely had thoughts about it.”

Now, in their autumn years of their careers, this dream could turn into reality.

According to ‘The Ringer’s’ Kevin O’Connor, there are sources around the league believing LeBron James could leave for Los Angeles during the 2018 free agency, potentially joining the Clippers to team up with his friends. The second possibilty for James would be a move to the Lakers, to join forces with Paul George. Jalen Rose said on ESPN’s first take:

“Don’t be surprised if King James … ends up somewhere in California eventually before he retires.”

Earlier this season, Chris Paul added some more speculation to building a potential super-friends-super-team by telling Sports Illustrated in an interview when asked about them playing together:

“Anything’s possible. Definitely, anything’s possible.

We’ll work out together and stuff like that sometimes. The last time we played together was 2008, some time around the Olympics. D-Wade was coming off his injury. He hit us up and said, ‘I need to see what it’s like to play for real.’ We all met in Chicago. I’ll never forget that. We went to a gym in Chicago and we played pick-up with some other guys just to give him some of that real feel, what it was like. Then, I don’t know if you remember, at the 2008 Olympics, Wade went off. That’s what you do for your real friends and your real brothers.”

I think it is highly unlikely. I also think LeBron will end his career in Cleveland. He is a legend there, a hero. He can do whatever he wants and there is no place he has greater influence than the Cavaliers.

But, how fun would it be though?!
