The FIBA World Cup is right around the corner, and Team USA’s lineup is starting to solidify. The roster boasts standout and up-and-coming NBA talents like Anthony Edwards, Brandon Ingram, Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Tyrese Haliburton, Austin Reaves, Jaren Jackson Jr., among others.

However, one noticeable absentee from this dynamic group is Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young. Given his numbers and early career experience, his exclusion from the group certainly raises questions about the potential impact he might have brought to Team USA.

Given the buzz surrounding his absence, Young expressed his desire to be part of the team. He candidly shared his puzzlement about not being on the roster, but also acknowledged that the decision ultimately rests with the management.

“Obviously, I definitely want to…It’s up to them if they want me to… I respect the OGs and understand that you got to take your term but I believe that I should be on.”
