Shaquille O’Neal Calls Ja Morant The Best Player In The League

Ja Morant has been tearing up the league, and everyone has noticed. This year, the former No.2 overall pick has averaged a career-best in points per game with 27.5 points to go along with 5.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game on 49.5% shooting.

In addition to his elite numbers, the Memphis Grizzlies have ascended to the ladder this season and have owned the second-best record in the NBA with 45 wins and 22 losses. While the Grizzlies have done well without him, Morant’s impact to his team is still unquestionable considering how well they perform against the top and healthy teams this season.

Morant continues to showcase his skills and has impressed plenty of people as of late. One of the many personalities who took their attention on the Grizzlies superstar is NBA Hall of Famer and TNT analyst Shaquille O’Neal.

O’Neal knows talent when he sees it.  Appearing on NBA on TNT, the four-time NBA champion mentioned that he talked to Morant and called him the best player in the league.

“You should’ve seen his little cute face when I said, “Yo man, you the best player in the league,” Shaq said. “He was like ‘Huh?’ — ‘I’m not playing with you, brother. You’re the best. For real. I promise you’re the best.’”
