Nick Wright Lauds Nikola Jokic: “More Deadly Offensive Player Than Kobe Or Durant Were”

Nikola Jokic is one of the best, if not the best, offensive players in the game today. He’s a center who can do everything a big man should, but also pass and run the offense like a point guard, and even shoot from deep.

Jokic’s offensive skillset is evident, his production perfectly reflects this. Since becoming an All-Star in the 2018-19 NBA season, he has averaged 23.9 points, 11.5 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game on 56.5% shooting from the field.

While Jokic is undeniably an offensive machine, the debate doesn’t stop there. In this case, how does he compare to all-time offensive greats? NBA analyst Nick Wright chimes in, claiming Jokic is a deadlier offensive weapon than Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant ever were.

“The best offensive players ever — this is not in order, but this is the list: Wilt [Chamberlain], Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar], Michael [Jordan], Magic [Johnson], [Larry] Bird, Shaq (Shaquille O’Neal), Steph (Stephen Curry), LeBron [James] and this guy (Jokic),” Wright said. “That has him ahead of Kobe. That has him ahead of [Kevin] Durant. That has him ahead of [Tim] Duncan and Dream (Hakeem Olajuwon), which I think most would agree with, ’cause so much of their value was being the best defensive player in the league for a year. But I think he is a more deadly offensive player than Kobe or Durant were.”
