“Knicks Got Fleeced!” – NBA Twitter Reacts To Raptors – Knicks Trade
The Toronto Raptors and New York Knicks are finalizing a big-time trade. Toronto is sending OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn to the Knicks in exchange for RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley and a 2024 second-round draft pick.
Anunoby, who has been a member of the Toronto team since 2017 and was also a key player in their championship-winning season of 2019, has long been coveted as one of the league’s premier 3-and-D players. The Raptors however, haven’t been enticed enough to move him despite multiple teams showing significant interest over the years.
Barrett, who has been performing impressively this season with an average of 18.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game, will now have the opportunity to return to his hometown. With Quickley, a talented point guard in Toronto, this could also suggest that Dennis Schröder’s time with the Raptors may be coming to an end. Quickley showcased his skills as the second-best sixth man last season and is now set to become a restricted free agent, aiming to secure a lucrative contract in the upcoming summer.
