Jayson Tatum’s Great Response To Kendrick Perkins Taking A Shot At Him

The Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks squared off last night, with the Celtics finally being able to beat the Knicks for the first time this season, behind Jaylen Brown’s first career triple double.

While the Celtics, with their 19-21 record, only good for the 10th seed in the East, have been a big disappointment this season, last night’s game was a step in the right direction.

After the game, former Celtic big man Kendrick Perkins, who’s become a TV analyst in his post-basketball career, praised Brown, while also taking a little shot at the Celtics’ other All-Star, Jayson Tatum.

“Jaylen Brown completely took over this game with his first triple double of his career! Played a perfect game while Jayson Tatum went 6/14 from the field. They got the win tho! Carry on…”

This led to Jayson Tatum himself responding. Tatum said that Perkins could have simply praised Brown without also bringing him down. And he’s right. The Celtics won the game, after all.

“Normalizing uplifting one man without bringing another one down… JB played great it’s alright to leave it at that.”
