Draymond Green And Andre Iguodala Mock Rudy Gobert Over His Emotional All-Star Snub Reaction

Groundhog Day?

Just like last year, this year’s biggest All-Star snub is named Rudy Gobert again.

The voting wasn’t in favor of the French center yet again, even though he would definitely have deserved to be an All-Star. Redditor jwinskowski has the stats to back it up:

Gobert’s defensive rating is 101.8. KAT’s is 107.4 and LMA’s is 110.6.

Gobert’s defensive win shares are 0.152 (Embiid is league best for Centers at .160.) Kat is at .103, LMA is at 0.069)

Gobert’s defensive real plus minus is 4.51, KAT’s is 1.36, LMA’s is 0.11.

So basically, if you’re trying to make the argument that either of those guys is in the same STRATOSPHERE as Rudy defensively, they aren’t. And now for the overall stats:

KAT’s traditional line is 22.6/12.1/3.1/1.1 (ppg/rpg/apg/bpg). LMA’s is 21.1/8.8/2.6/1.2, Gobert’s is 15.0/12.8/2.2/2.2.

Rudy’s real plus minus is 5.05, KAT’s is 3.66, LMA’s is 0.63.

Rudy’s got 9.0 win shares so far this year, KAT has 6.9, LMA has 6.0.

Value over replacement player puts Rudy at 3.9, KAT at 3.6, and LMA at 1.6.

Rudy also ranks above both players by a wide margin in box plus minus and win shares per 48.

So Gobert was disappointed at being a snub again, and, when confronted with the situation at the Jazz’s press conference, he was brought to tears.

Gobert’s emotional reaction caused a reaction from Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala and Isaiah Thomas, who appeared to mock Gobert’s reaction on Twitter.
