Charles Barkley Suggests Tom Brady Is Greater Than Michael Jordan: “Every Time Brady Played, It Was A Game 7”

Basketball legend Michael Jordan and football icon Tom Brady are often embroiled in the debate of who is the greatest athlete of all-time. The debate has intensified as of late after Brady won his seventh Super Bowl, surpassing the number of rings Michael Jordan accumulated in the NBA.

Championships aren’t the end-all-be-all of the conversation. When comparing players across different eras, let alone different sports, context has to come into play. But because of the complicated varying factors between the NBA and NFL, sports pundits and fans alike continue to spin in circles.

To each their own, but NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, who made his appearance on ESPN 1000’s ‘Waddle and Silvy’, believes the debate between Jordan and Brady is already won – not by Jordan, but by the current Tampa Bay superstar quarterback.

“It’s hard for me to put anybody above Michael, but Michael was always gonna be the best player four out of seven games,” Barkley explained. “But the difference is, every time Tom Brady played a football game, it was a Game 7.”

“(Jordan’s) gonna win most series because he’s gonna be the best player four outta seven games. But when you’re playing football, every single game in the playoffs is a Game 7.”

“I can’t believe he’s not retired, I’m not gonna lie,” Barkley said. “Because if you do what he just did – beat Drew Brees in New Orleans, beat Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau Field, and then beat Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl, that would be the greatest ‘drop the mic’ ever in sports.”
