OG Anunoby has already given New York Knicks fans one of the defining moments in franchise history. Now he is helping them recreate it in the middle of Times Square.
Anunoby appeared at Essentia Supercharged Court in Times Square this week, where the setup was built around his unforgettable game-winning tip-in against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals. The concept was wonderfully simple: Anunoby intentionally missed shots so participants could crash the basket and attempt their own version of the play that helped change the championship series.

The original moment came on June 10 at Madison Square Garden.
With New York trailing 106-105 in the closing seconds, Anunoby inbounded the ball to Jalen Brunson and immediately moved toward the basket. Brunson’s heavily contested three-pointer came up short, but Anunoby timed his run perfectly and redirected the miss into the hoop with 1.2 seconds remaining, giving the Knicks a 107-106 victory.

It was far more than an ordinary game-winner.
New York had trailed by as many as 29 points, making the victory the largest comeback in NBA Finals history. Anunoby finished the game with 33 points, while Brunson scored 36, and the win gave the Knicks a commanding 3-1 series lead.
Days later, New York finished the job and captured its first NBA championship since 1973, making Anunoby’s tip-in one of the signature images of the entire title run.
The Times Square event, part of Essentia Water’s “Change the Equation” campaign, brought that play back to life in a much lighter setting. Players from Gersh Park Basketball and fans were given opportunities to attack the rim as Anunoby supplied the misses they needed to try the same kind of putback.
