The NBA on NBC is making a comeback, and it’s bringing a familiar face with it—Michael Jordan. The six-time NBA champion and Hall of Famer will join NBC Sports as a special contributor when the network resumes broadcasting NBA games for the 2025-26 season.
“A legendary addition to our team! We’re thrilled to welcome Michael Jordan as a special contributor to the NBA on NBC and Peacock,”

NBC previously held NBA broadcast rights from 1990 to 2002, covering all six of Jordan’s championships with the Chicago Bulls. Now, after a 23-year absence, the network is returning to the league with an 11-year broadcast deal.
While NBC has not yet revealed the specifics of Jordan’s role, his presence alone adds star power and credibility to the network’s coverage.
NBC Sports President Rick Cordella expressed excitement about Jordan’s involvement, stating:
“Michael’s legacy both on and off the court speaks for itself. We’re incredibly proud to have him join our coverage.”
NBC’s new NBA rights deal include: Exclusive Monday night games on Peacock; Regional doubleheaders on NBC/Peacock on Tuesday nights and Sunday Night Basketball across NBC and Peacock.
Jordan’s addition is part of a broader effort to rebuild NBC’s NBA coverage, which will also feature Reggie Miller and Jamal Crawford as game analysts, Carmelo Anthony as a studio analyst, and Mike Tirico and Noah Eagle as play-by-play voices.
With Jordan’s involvement, NBC is looking to recapture the magic of its iconic NBA broadcasts, which featured legendary moments, unforgettable Finals matchups, and the beloved NBA on NBC theme music.
