Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, known for his outspoken criticism of President Donald Trump, shared how he spent the time during Trump’s presidential inauguration. Instead of tuning in to watch the event, Kerr chose to focus on his team’s upcoming game against the Boston Celtics.
In a pre-game interview, Kerr explained his decision:
“I didn’t watch the inauguration. I chose to watch Celtics tape instead.”

The comment drew laughter from reporters and quickly went viral on social media.
Kerr’s small jab at Trump is not surprising, given his history of vocal criticism. He has previously endorsed Kamala Harris for president and has been a prominent figure in the NBA’s political discourse.
However, despite the extra preparation, the Warriors suffered a tough loss to the Celtics, with a final score of 125-85.
