Avery Bradley Could Hear Rajon Rondo Say: ‘They [The Celtics] Gave Up’

Last night, the Boston Celtics got beat up by the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls have become only the second 8 seed to hold a 2-0 series lead in the Playoffs, and first-ever in a 7-game series.

Rajon Rondo is a huge part of the Bulls’ resurrection. Rondo had an amazing performance reminiscent of his prime days with the Celtics, almost finishing with a triple double.

While the Celtics looked hopeless at times, and never really found into the game, the Bulls were quicker – on the court and mentally. The crowd at TD Garden was in disbelief, and some of the Celtics’ players appeard to have already given up on themselves.

According to the Boston Globe‘s Adam Himmelsbach, Avery Bradley told reporters that he overheard some of Rondo’s on-court conversation, saying ‘the Celtics gave up’.

“I looked around and, a few times in the game, guys were putting their heads down, I think getting down on themselves. I could even hear Rondo like, ‘yeah, they gave up. They gave up.'”

It’s still a long road to go for the Chicago Bulls, but it certainly does not look good for the Celtics right now.
