Zach Lowe Thinks The New York Knicks Could Reach The Eastern Conference Finals Next Season

The New York Knicks have been the subject of jokes for years, but they’re becoming more enjoyable to watch, thanks in large part to their improving roster headlined by Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, RJ Barrett and Josh Hart.

Showing their growth, the Knicks finished last season with a 47-35 record, securing the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference. They even advanced to the second round of the NBA playoffs by defeating the fourth-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers.

While many still hold low expectations for the Knicks, their performance last season seems to have impressed some basketball experts. In fact, renowned NBA analyst Zach Lowe sees solid potential in the Knicks and believes they could even reach the Eastern Conference Finals next season.

“They won a playoff series [last season],” Lowe said. “They demolished the Cleveland Cavaliers.”

“They competed hard against Miami in the second round. If I’m a Knicks optimist, Philadelphia? They’re a mess. Milwaukee? [They’re] facing some pressure. Boston? [They] gotta reinvent themselves around Kristaps Porzingis, some injury-prone guys. Miami? [They] still don’t have Damian Lillard. They got Heat culture, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, but don’t have Damian Lillard yet.”

“Why can’t we wake up in May and the New York Knicks are in the Conference Finals? Maybe not the finals; that might be a little much, but why not go to the Conference Finals? This is a good deep team [and] well coached. They’re going to grind defensively,” Lowe continued.
