Tyrese Haliburton Reveals How Damian Lillard Gave Him His Welcome to the NBA Moment

Through the first quarter of the NBA season, Sacramento Kings rookie, Tyrese Haliburton has definitely been the most impactful rookie in the NBA.

Even though the Kings still are pretty bad, they are a much better team with him on the court. Haliburton has an incredible basketball IQ and amazing decision making for a rookie, he’s a great shooter with a quick release and an amazing passer, who isn’t careless with the ball.

Because of him, Kings fans can look into the team’s future less worryingly. But just like anyone else, Haliburton also had a ‘welcome to the NBA moment’ – in his case, courtesy of Damian Lillard.

The rookie joined JJ Redick on his ‘The old man and the three’ podcast, where he revealed that he couldn’t believe the insane range of the Blazers’ All-Star.

“We played the Trailblazers the other day.

They beat us bad then they played us again and Dame, they told me the pickup spot was 40 [feet], like pick him up at 40. And he [Lillard] shot it from half-court and I said, ‘Coach I know you said 40, but he just shot it from 50. I don’t know what you want me to do here.’”
