Rumors are flying high with the 2023 NBA Draft coming up next week. One report even had the New Orleans Pelicans interested in drafting G League Ignite point guard Scoot Henderson, who is projected to be a top-three pick.

The Pelicans currently hold the 14th overall pick, which means they are unlikely to draft Henderson by default. But of course, they can string together a package to move up and give themselves a strong chance at landing the 19-year old prospect.

Given their wealth of trade assets, it’s not impossible for such monumental trade to take place. Now, a latest development suggested that the Pelicans may even consider trading two-time All-Star Zion Williamson to land Henderson in the upcoming draft.

Per Marc Stein’s Substack:

“I heard this week from one well-placed observer who is convinced that the Pelicans would indeed consider dealing Williamson away if it meant they could draft Henderson, pointing to a rising level of exasperation within the organization regarding Williamson’s ongoing availability issues and overall approach. My read, at this juncture, is that the Pelicans are less inclined to consider trading Brandon Ingram in the same scenario.”
