The Grizzlies Have Hit The Draft Jackpot By Picking Jaren Jackson Jr.

It seems like the Memphis Grizzlies may have hit the jackpot this past NBA Draft by selecting Jaren Jackson Jr. He is key part of why the Grizzlies are one of the biggest (positive) surprises this season.

The rookie has majorly impressed so far and is averaging 12.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 2.1 blocks while shooting 51.3% from the field. More so, his per-36 averages are actually too good, at 18.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.5 steals, and 3.1 blocks on 52% shooting. If you compare these to Anthony Davis’ per-36 rookie season averages (16.9 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.2 blocks on 52% shooting), you can see that the sky is the limit for the 19-year old.

To prove once more how special he is, here’s another impressive stat. Through his first 20 games, Jackson Jr. has tallied over 250 points, 20 steals, and 40 blocks becoming only one of four players in history to do so. The others? NBA legends David Robison, Patrick Ewing, and Bill Walton, not the worst company. We’ll keep a close eye on Jaren throughout the season, but he truly has all the tools to become a special player.
