Stephen A. Smith Expects The Los Angeles Lakers To Fire Head Coach Frank Vogel If Struggle Continues

The Los Angeles Lakers started their fresh year with high expectations, but a shaky start to the season raised a lot of questions, and one of them includes whether head coach Frank Vogel is the right guy to coach the team.

Since he started coaching the team in 2019, this might be the first time Vogel’s job has been uncertain as ever. The Lakers are currently the eight seed in the Western Conference with a 12-12 record, and everyone out there is expecting a leap considering the massive star power that the Lakers have on their team.

In view of this, prominent media personality Stephen A. Smith is now projecting that the Lakers are going to fire Vogel if things don’t go well for them come All-Star break.

“I expect the Lakers to fire Frank Vogel. I am not advocating it by any stretch of the imagination. I like Frank Vogel. Frank Vogel has been a top notch defensive mind in the NBA. I think that he’s a champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, he’s already delivered that.”

“But these are the Lakers. This is tinsel town. … We’ve got questions about chemistry. We’ve got questions about commitment and dedication. We damn sure got questions about their defense. … If this continues, Frank Vogel in my opinion will not be the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers come All-Star break.”
