Skip Bayless Says Stephen Curry Is Not A Top 20 Player Of All-Time: “Go Win A Finals MVP”

In case you weren’t paying attention, Stephen Curry has been a force this season and is playing one of the best stretches of his career thus far. Over his past 11 games, the Golden State Warriors superstar is averaging 40.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game on 54-50-94 shooting splits with 78 three-pointers made, while leading the shorthanded Warriors to a record of 7 wins and 4 losses.

This strong showing from Curry led basketball pundits and fans alike to reflect on his greatness and his place in the pantheon of all-time greats. While it’s been widely-recognized that Curry is the greatest shooter of all-time, his place in the all-time rankings remains to be a debate for many.

Taking the topic on FS1’s ‘Undisputed’, Skip Bayless, who is a notorious critic of multiple sports personalities, was confident of not taking the side of Curry during a debate with co-host Shannon Sharpe. During their conversation, Bayless exclaimed why Curry is not a top 20 player of all-time.

“I’ve got Hakeem, I’ve got Oscar, I’ve got Dr J. These are all better than Steph, right here, right now. I’ve got David Robinson, you think not? Karl Malone, second all-time leading scorer. I’ve got Bill Walton, he dominated pro basketball very few dominated. He got hurt. He took it over, he was the runaway MVP, regular season, finals. I haven’t seen that from Steph yet. I haven’t seen him take over in the biggest moments. I’m sorry, I still have Dirk in my top, in my second tier to be the Top 20, did not win finals MVP? Jerry West, he’s better right there over Steph.”
