Shaquille O’Neal Is Happy About Staples Center’s Name Change: I’m Glad They’re Taking The Name Down”

A couple of weeks ago, it was revealed that one of the world’s most famous sport venues will be chaining its names soon.

Los Angeles’ legendary Staples Center is getting renamed to Crypto.com Arena on December 25, in what is believed to be the largest U.S. venue naming rights deal to date.

While many fans and players were mad or sad about the name change, Shaquille O’Neal has a different opinion on the topic.

Shaq said he is happy of the name change, because Staples Center belongs to him and Kobe Bryant. During the latest episode of his Big Podcast, O’Neal admitted that he was happy when he saw them take down the seeing Staples Center sign.

“I’m glad they’re taking the name of the Staples Center down because that was our building….Congratulations to the owners for getting the new deal, but Staples Center belonged to Shaq and Kobe forever.”
