Shannon Sharpe Unimpressed About Zion’s Dunks, Says Pelicans Should Shut 300 Pound Zion Down For Good

After making his first All-Star game and finishing his sophomore year with averages of 27.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists on an efficient 61.1% shooting from the field, Zion Williamson’s career turned for the worse.

Zion has been rehabbing his broken foot for almost a year now, and his relationship with the New Orleans Pelicans is questionable, at best.

Zion left his team in the dark about his progress and his intentions, and his added weight, when he was rehabbing in Portland, but with the Pelicans’ success in the second half of the season, following the CJ McCollum trade, the relationship has become slightly better again… so it seems.

While there still is no official timetable for Williamson’s return, he is with the team again and was seen performing some insane dunks before the Pelicans’ play-in game against the San Antonio Spurs the other day.

Shannon Sharpe however, was completely unimpressed by the dunk show. Ahead of tonight’s final play-in game against the Clippers, Sharpe said that the Pelicans need to shut their ‘300 pound’ star down.

“I’m unimpressed by this. If I’m David Griffin I’m like shut this down. We’re done we need you to trim down. Zion Williamson is over 300 pounds in that video.”
