Rival Teams Believe Milwaukee Bucks Are Trying To Acquire Chris Paul

Led by Chris Paul, the Oklahoma City Thunder turned heads with their great play and surprised everyone by easily reaching the playoffs, where they eventually would fall short to the Houston Rockets in seven hard fought games.

The 10-time All-Star had a real bounce back season in Oklahoma City, while continuing to be productive and still being one of the most impactful players in the game at age 35.

Things indeed looked a little different last year though. After a tough 2018-19 season, many called Paul washed and at the final stages of his impressive career. But his trade from Houston to the Thunder turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Paul.

But that one season together could be it. Not only did Chris Paul’s ‘thank you OKC’ message sound like farewell, the Thunder are also seeming to go for the full rebuild.

Last night, it was announced that the team will not pursue an extension of the expired contract of head coach Billy Donovan, and the rumors of a possible Paul trade have been roaming around for a while now

If Paul will indeed hit the market, as expected, the freshly eliminated Milwaukee Bucks will try to acquire him from the Oklahoma City Thunder this free agency according to a report by Marc Stein:

“There are rival teams that believe Milwaukee will explore trading for Chris Paul — complicated as that would be financially — if Oklahoma City indeed makes CP3 available via trade. One more thing to track as the Bucks enter perhaps the most crucial offseason in team history.”

Adding Paul might actually be the exact missing piece that’ll put the Bucks over the edge. After having had the league’s best regular season record for two straight years, only to be eliminated in the playoffs a little too early for their liking, they need to mix things up a little – especially at the point guard position, where Eric Bledsoe has been nothing short of disappointing ever since signing his huge contract.
