Mikal Bridges Reveals Phoenix Suns Underestimated The Milwaukee Bucks In 2021 NBA Finals

The 2021 NBA Finals featured a fresh matchup between two teams eager for the championship. The Milwaukee Bucks and the Phoenix Suns went head-to-head for six intense games, with the Bucks ultimately taking the crown.

The teams were closely matched, and there was no lopsided favorite. But many believed it might be Chris Paul’s year to win his first championship ring, especially after the Suns escaped the tough West, beating teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers.

However, things didn’t unfold as expected, and the Suns came up short. Former Suns swingman Mikal Bridges has since shared a surprising detail about the series. He admitted that the Suns underestimated the Bucks, viewing them as an inferior Eastern team relative to their Western counterparts.

“I remember going up 2-0. I thought we was good,” Bridges said. “We ‘bout to win the chip, especially in the West, especially then, the West all had tough teams. East, we were like, ‘Whatever.'”
