Miami Heat Suspend Dion Waiters

Low self-esteem has never been a problem for Dion Waiters, although his NBA career has been very strange so far, to say the least.

The Cavaliers’ 4th pick of the 2012 NBA draft, started off very promising in his first two years with Cleveland, but had his career gotten derailed a bit in recent years, not least due to ongoing injuries. Waiters has suffered never-ending sprained ankle and knee problems, and now, just when he’s ready to make a proper comeback, he’s sabotaging himself.

Waiters has been suspended by the Miami Heat for their season opener against Memphis on Wednesday night for how the Heat say ‘conduct detrimental to the team’.

Heat president Pat Riley, said in a statement:

“There were a number of unacceptable incidents this week, culminating with his unprofessional conduct on the bench last night. As a consequence, I feel we had to suspend him.”

The suspension will cost Waiters $83,448. Let’s hope he’ll get back on track with a straight head after this.
