Matt Barnes Suggests LA Clippers Should Rename Their Team For A Fresh New Start

The majority of NBA fans were in disbelief after the Los Angeles Clippers were embarrassed by the Denver Nuggets, who were expected to have no business facing the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals at all.

This was supposed to be the year the Clippers ended their ugly playoff history. However, their second-round collapse now even highlights that history a lot more. The Clippers have never made it to the Western Conference Finals and they now own two 3-1 playoff lead blows, as well.

Retired NBA player Matt Barnes, who had a fair share of history with the Clippers, talked about his former team and their recent loss against the Nuggets during his appearance on CBS Sports HQ.

Barnes said the Clippers should rename their team to bury all their bad history and for a fresh start.

“They need to burn everything Clippers, come out with a fresh start, new team name … let all that bad history with the Clippers rest in peace.”
