Jusuf Nurkic Was Moved By Heartbreaking Story Of Poor Family & Bought Them A House

Ten years ago, Jasmina Memišević stepped on a land mine and lost her leg. While her husband Edwin works hard every single day to proved enough money to at least buy food for his family, Jasmina takes care of their eleven-year-old son Adin, who has a heart disease.

The family lived in a destroyed house, without running water, without a bathroom and without almost any furniture, sleeping on the floor every night.

When Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic read the tragic story of this family from his home country of Bosnia, he was moved by it and knew that he had to take some action.

So Nurkić contacted Index.hr where he initially had read about the Memišević family, with the wish to buy them a house.

After that, it all happened very quickly, as the family got the keys to their new home earlier this week. A house with electricity, running water and furniture.
