Amid the flurry of free agency activities, it has become evident that James Harden will no longer be playing for the Philadelphia 76ers, as he exercises his $35.6 player option with the intention of exploring sign-and-trade possibilities in search of a new team for the upcoming 2023-24 NBA season.

As his departure looms, there is speculation from New York Daily News’ Stefan Bondy that Harden’s exit could create a domino effect within the Sixers’ roster, potentially impacting the long-term tenure of superstar center Joel Embiid.

Evidently, the Sixers remain committed to constructing a championship-caliber team centered around Embiid. However, the relentless rumor mill excuses no one, and currently there is word about the reigning league MVP being an ideal trade candidate for the New York Knicks.

Per New York Daily News:

“If Harden is out, what does that mean for the Sixers’ contending timeline and Joel Embiid, in particular? Embiid, the league’s reigning MVP, has been mentioned around league circles as New York’s ideal trade candidate if he ever demands out.

The 30-year-old Cameroonian was represented by Leon Rose, who was a longtime agent before taking over as president of the Knicks.”
