Jimmy Butler Takes Huge Swing At Timberwolves And Former Teammates

After news broke that Jimmy Butler wanted out of Minnesota and demanded a trade, he was absent from team practices and other activities. Until his big return.

Butler surprisingly showed up to Minnesota Timberwolves practice and took out his frustrations on his teammates, coaches and general manager Scott Layden. Butler even teamed up with the third string players, to take on the starters in scrimmages, and beat them, while trash-talking them in the process.

Then, things calmed down a little and, Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor and Jimmy Butler came to an agreement that Taylor will continue to find a trade as soon as possible. Until that happens, Butler will be a good teammate and play as hard as he always does. Butler didn’t always keep his word, but finally got traded today. The Wolves traded him to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Justin Patton, and a future 2nd round pick.

Last night, Butler celebrated his home debut for the Sixers and he played brilliantly. He went 12-of-15 from the field for 28 points and added three rebounds, seven assists and two steals. During his post-game interview, he took another big swing at the Timberwolves and his former teammates.

“It’s so fun to win. So much more fun to play with these guys…

…Everybody wants to win and when somebody messes up, you talk to them, they don’t take it personal and they do their job.”
