Instead Of White House Visit, Warriors Met With Barack Obama Before Wizards Game

When the Golden State Warriors won the NBA championship in 2017, it was obvious that the decade long era of NBA champions visiting the White House would come to an end.

After Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and Steve Kerr, among others, publicly stated that they wouln’t visit the president, Donald Trump withdrew the Warriors’ White House invitation. After the team repeated last year, there wasn’t even a discussion whether they should go anymore. They didn’t want to and probably weren’t invited in the first place.

So before their game against the Wizards in D.C last night, that’s when the Champions’ reception normally would have taken place, the Warriors went to visit the former president, Barack Obama, instead.
