Golden State Warriors Feeling Uneasy As Sacramento Kings Pose Threat In Pursuit Of Draymond Green

In recent months, there has been plenty of buzz surrounding the potential exit of Draymond Green from the Golden State Warriors. More recently, it was confirmed that Green has already made a decision not to exercise his player option and will instead test free agency this summer.

Green has proven to be a valuable asset for the Warriors throughout his time with the team. Despite not putting up flashy statistics, the 33-year old Warriors veteran has excelled in directing the team’s offense, grabbing rebounds and providing solid rim protection, all while bringing an unmatched level of energy and intensity to the court.

Now, in the wake of Green’s decision to explore free agency, former NBA executive and current writer for The Athletic John Hollinger now suggests that the Warriors are sweating over the possibility of the renowned defensive stalwart joining the Sacramento Kings, a team that gave them a tough seven-game series in the recent NBA playoffs. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst also commented on this development prior to Hollinger’s remarks.

Per Sacramento Bee:

“The Kings can now go hunting for Draymond Green if they wish and that would be extraordinarily interesting because it is the exact — exact — type of player they need,” said Brian Windhorst. In addition, John Hollinger expressed, “The Warriors have to be sweating right now, at the very least, because there is now a highly plausible rival Green bidder on the market. Of course, that’s not the only situation in which the Kings can be a threat.”
