Former Warriors GM Bob Myers Declares He’d Choose Joel Embiid Over Nikola Jokic In A Game 7 Of An NBA Finals

Joel Embiid has been an absolute force this season. Following his MVP campaign last year, he’s on another MVP-caliber tear, averaging 36.0 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game on 53.9% shooting from the field. With him at the helm, the Philadelphia 76ers sit comfortably in the third seed of the Eastern Conference.

Despite his dominant production and impact, Embiid often finds himself overshadowed by Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic. These two undoubtedly stand head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to the best center in the NBA, but Jokic often receives the nod, buoyed by his recent championship and Finals MVP accolades.

Amidst the endless comparisons, former Warriors general manager Bob Myers throws his hat into the ring. When asked his pick between Embiid and Jokic, Myers throws his weight behind the Sixers superstar, declaring him his choice in a hypothetical Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

“Game 7 in the NBA Finals right now and we each got to pick a center, I’m taking Embiid first… I love Jokic, but Embiid is the most physically dominant player in the NBA.”
