Evan Fournier Believes The Brooklyn Nets’ Big 3 Were Poised To Win In 2021 Before Injuries Set Them Back

The Brooklyn Nets were anticipated to be strong title contenders after acquiring James Harden in the 2020-21 NBA season, teaming him up with fellow offensive powerhouses Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

However, the star-studded trio rarely hit the court together and didn’t make it through a whole playoff series while all in good shape. They ended their one and only playoff run with a second-round exit and split up before they could show their full strength and go for a comeback season.

Even though many people think this Nets team was a bust, veteran NBA guard Evan Fournier sees it differently. Sharing his thoughts on the team, Fournier pointed out they were really coming together and had the upper hand against the Bucks in the 2021 playoffs until they got hurt.

Matt Barnes: “They [Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden] were on the same team. Why didn’t that work?”

Evan Fournier: “It did work until motherf*ckers got hurt in the playoffs… The Nets were going to win. They were killing the Bucks.”
