Donovan Mitchell Shuts Down Rumors About Wanting To Play With The Heat Or Knicks

The Utah Jazz are hanging on as the 4th best team in the Western Conference with a record of 28 wins and 14 losses. However, the Jazz haven’t been lucky lately, riding a 4-game losing skid at this point of the season.

Jazz superstar Donovan Mitchell has recently expressed frustrations regarding their level of play over their losing streak. This and among other things have raised questions about Mitchell’s future and even sparked rumors that he would prefer to play in a bigger market like the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks.

“I believe this is well documented & relatively obvious but… I can confirm that if Donovan Mitchell were to ever ask out of Utah, it’s believed Miami would be his first choice and New York a more distant second as preferred destinations according to a league source.”

Such rumors surrounding the 25-year old Jazz shooting guard has been circulating for quite a while now, and recently, Mitchell finally had the chance to break his silence.

When asked about the report that he’d prefer to play in a bigger market, Mitchell was quick to interrupt and shut down any chance he plays for a different team, noting that he’s trying to win a championship with Utah.

“Y’all like to talk a lot when we lose. I don’t understand. Y’all like to just keep all the negative stuff when we start losing, when we’re winning there’s nothing said.”

“We’ve got to go, we’re trying to win a championship, so I just cut you off and answer that right there, that’s the goal and we’re not going to stop until we do. We have a great group of guys and this stretch doesn’t dictate who we are as a team.”
