Chicago Bulls Players & Officials Thought Zach LaVine And Jim Boylen Would Physically Fight

The other week, the Chicago Bulls announced that they will part ways with head coach Jim Boylen. This news caused a cry of joy from everywhere in the city and made Bulls fans happier than they’ve been ever since Derrick Rose was still healthy.

While we knew that everybody wants ‘GarPax’ to be fired in Bulls county, it turns out that they hated their coach just as much.

When I was in town for this year’s All-Star weekend, prior to this exhausting pandemic, I talked to plenty of Bulls fans, and almost every single one of them wanted Jim Boylen gone.

It turns out that Zach LaVine will be just as happy about Boylen’s exit as the Bulls fans are.

After a good start, LaVine and Boylen’s relationship deteriorated more and more to a point LaVine’s Bulls teammates were concerned that the two would physically fight.

Per, Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic:

LaVine was angry after the game and there was a minor concern among members of the traveling party that things could turn physical between the two prior to the team flight to Charlotte.

A physical fight between a player and coach rarely happens, but stories like this make you immediately think about the time Latrell Sprewell completely lost his nerves and threatened to kill his coach P.J. Carlesimo, while dragging him backwards by his throat, choking him for so long until teammates were able to pull the All-Star off their coach.
