Anthony Edwards Eyeing Next Season’s Defensive Player Of The Year Title, Says He’s The Best Defensive Player In The NBA

 

Anthony Edwards has set himself up as one of the game’s brightest young stars. Through 72 regular games this season, Edwards averaged 21.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game on 44.1% shooting from the field.

The young Wolves star also got his first taste of the playoffs and didn’t disappoint in his debut, dropping 36 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks on an efficient 52.2% shooting from the field. Even though the Wolves suffered a blowout loss in Game 2, Edwards still was one of the bright spots.

Appearing in an interview on NBA Today, Edwards showed the confidence he’s is know for, when talking about his talent and capability as a player. Specifically talking about his defensive game, Edwards said that he’s the best defensive player in the NBA.

 

“I feel like I’m a great defender. I actually feel like I’m the best defender in the NBA… I can guard anybody. When it comes to shooting guards, small forwards, point guards, I feel like I can guard anyone.”
