Anthony Davis Keeps Eye On Ultimate Prize After Winning In-Season Tournament: “We Know It’s Not The Real Thing”

The Los Angeles Lakers added another trophy to their collection, defeating the Indiana Pacers 123-109 to win the first-ever NBA In-Season Tournament championship. LeBron James was the tournament’s MVP, averaging 26.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.6 assists on 56.8% shooting from the field.

But it wasn’t all LeBron. The team effort shone through, especially with Anthony Davis in the IST Finals. The Lakers big man was the star of the night, scoring 41 points, grabbing 20 rebounds and blocking 4 shots, all while shooting at an impressive 66.7%.

Davis and the Lakers were extra motivated in this game as it was the first-ever IST championship, complete with additional incentives. Although they were clearly thrilled with the win, Davis understands that they haven’t won the ultimate prize yet.

“First to do it, first team to win it. We know it’s not the real thing, but we keep making steps in the right direction,” Davis said.
