The Golden State Warriors’ young squad delivered a comeback worthy of the franchise’s championship tradition, rallying from a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies, 94–90, and capture the 2026 NBA Summer League title in Las Vegas.
Yaxel Lendeborg powered the turnaround with 21 points and 10 rebounds, earning championship-game MVP honors. The rookie forward took control late, producing a personal 7–0 run before knocking down a crucial three-pointer with just over two minutes remaining to give Golden State the lead for good.
Deivon Smith was equally important, coming off the bench to record 21 points and nine rebounds, while LJ Cryer added 15 points and four three-pointers. Golden State’s defense also transformed the game, limiting Memphis to only 14 points in the final quarter after the Grizzlies had controlled much of the second half.
The victory gave the Warriors their second Las Vegas Summer League championship and their first since 2013. Summer League trophies do not guarantee future NBA success, but Golden State’s rookies and hopefuls showed exactly what teams want to see in July: toughness, composure and a refusal to quit.
Down 12 in the fourth quarter, the young Warriors could have treated it like another exhibition.
Instead, they treated it like a championship game, and left Las Vegas with the trophy.
