Kawhi Leonard said the Los Angeles Clippers need more talent if they want to get where they expect to be. Sitting at 5-13 near the bottom of the West, the team has become a natural target for speculation. The real question is which available players can actually help them climb out.
A recent post from parody account NBA Centel claimed Anthony Davis had been traded to the Clippers. The story obviously was not real, but the possibility did not seem crazy to some fans. If Davis ever ends up on the market, the Clippers would make sense as a team that would look into it.

With Brook Lopez and John Collins falling short of expectations, and with Kawhi calling for more talent, Clippers should be paying close attention. Not long ago, NBA insider Zach Lowe floated the idea of an AD-to-the-Clippers trade. He laid out how a move like that could come together.
Mavericks receive: John Collins, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Brook Lopez or Derrick Jones Jr.
Clippers receive: Anthony Davis
“The Clippers, who are also hard capped at the first apron and not that far under it, which makes the math very difficult. Well, you’d have to build it around Collins, Bogdanovic, Brook Lopez or Derrick Jones Jr. as the third guy… And even that comes up a little short of how much the Clippers would need to send out to stay clear of the first apron. I don’t know that you’re getting like three unprotected first-round picks,” Lowe said, via BasketNews.
