When people think of All-Stars, it’s always Luka Doncic and LeBron James leading the way for the Los Angeles Lakers. That’s just how it’s been. But if you’ve been watching the team lately, one name’s hard to miss. Austin Reaves.
The undrafted Lakers guard has quietly turned into a stat-sheet monster to open up the season, putting up 34.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 10.0 assists per game on 52.5% shooting. If this pace holds, voters won’t be able to look away.
It’s not crazy to think the Lakers could end up with three All-Stars also if LeBron comes back and looks like himself again. But former NBA player Chandler Parsons went off-script. If the Lakers only get two spots, he’d bet on Reaves joining Luka over LeBron.
“This guy (Austin Reaves) is the second-leading scorer in the NBA. We’re putting a guy ahead of him in the All-Star Game who hasn’t even played yet?”
. @ChandlerParsons believes LeBron James will miss the All-Star Game for the first time since his rookie year 👀
Chandler says if the Lakers send 2 players to the ASG, it’ll be Luka and Austin Reaves…
