The Golden State Warriors have had a quiet offseason so far, and the situation around Jonathan Kuminga’s restricted free agency remains unresolved. While a sign-and-trade remains on the table, Golden State appears selective about any potential return.
The Sacramento Kings are one of the teams showing interest in Kuminga. According to recent reports, they’ve floated an offer including a rotational player and a first-round pick. However, Golden State wanted the pick unprotected.
There are a few ways a deal could still come together, but both sides seem far from an agreement. Veteran star DeMar DeRozan was floated as a potential sweetener from Sacramento’s end. It might be appealing to some teams, but apparently not to the Warriors.
“My understanding is the Warriors weren’t interested in Carter or DeRozan. As of a couple weeks ago, the Kings weren’t willing to pay Kuminga into the $20 million range (AAV).”
The Golden State Warriors have shown no interest in DeMar DeRozan or Devin Carter in a potential Jonathan Kuminga trade with the Kings, per @sam_amick
