The San Antonio Spurs are deepening their international roots with a groundbreaking new partnership: French digital asset security firm Ledger has become the team’s official jersey patch sponsor, marking the first French sponsor in franchise history.
Announced Tuesday, the multi-year deal places the Paris-based company’s logo on Spurs jerseys beginning with the 2025 NBA Draft and continuing into Summer League play on July 5. The patch will also appear on jerseys for the Austin Spurs, the team’s G League affiliate.
The move is more than just a business deal—it’s a nod to the Spurs’ long-standing ties to France. From Tony Parker and Boris Diaw to current phenom Victor Wembanyama, the franchise has cultivated a loyal French following for decades. The team even played two games in Paris last season, further cementing its global appeal.
“This moment cements a decades-long history of international collaboration and growth,” said RC Buford, CEO of Spurs Sports & Entertainment.
Founded in Paris in 2014, Ledger specializes in securing digital assets like cryptocurrency. The company now safeguards more than 20% of the world’s crypto, serving millions of users globally. Its partnership with the Spurs is part of a broader push to connect with the next generation of “sovereign individuals,” according to CEO Pascal Gauthier.
The deal also includes a strong community component. Ledger will support the Spurs’ Play Paris initiative, a multi-year plan to renovate outdoor basketball courts in France. Additionally, the company will become the presenting partner of the Spurs Tech & Basketball Camp, which blends sports with STEM education for kids aged 10–14.
