After leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to their first-ever NBA championship, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made a national TV appearance that fans won’t soon forget—for reasons that had nothing to do with basketball.
Just hours after being crowned Finals MVP in a Game 7 win over the Indiana Pacers, Gilgeous-Alexander appeared on Good Morning America looking… well, exhausted. With droopy eyes, and a dazed smile, SGA instantly became a meme.
“I got some rest. Not as much as I’d like, but hey—you only live once,” he told host Robin Roberts, who playfully asked if he’d slept at all.
Shai did “Good Morning America” this morning after a long night. 🤣

Social media exploded with reactions. Fans joked that SGA looked like he hadn’t closed his eyes since the final buzzer… and more. One user wrote, “Bro is in outer space,” while another added, “My boy needed a nap 😂”. The phrase “He baked or nah?” even started trending.
The clip of Gilgeous-Alexander blinking slowly and smiling through the interview quickly went viral, with fans dubbing it the most relatable post-championship moment ever.
To be fair, SGA had every reason to look worn out. He just capped off a historic season in which he won league MVP, Finals MVP, and led the Thunder to a 68-win campaign. In Game 7 alone, he dropped 29 points and 12 assists, cementing his place among the NBA’s elite.
So if he looked a little “fried” on national TV? That’s just the price of greatness… or well deserved.
